I just want to put this out there. For the last 2.5 years I’ve been having health issues down there. I have seen about 10 different doctors across 3 different states. The first 7 all did the same thing. Swabbed me for BV and yeast. Some drew blood for STD testing. None of them let me finish a sentence to explain and barely even looked at me. They would prescribe me some steroid cream and send me on my way. One of them prescribed me something I had already tried and when I told her I have used it and it didn’t work she told me to just try it again. You know, because her name on the prescription will make it magic.
My parents were telling me that nothing is wrong, it’s just hypochondria and to stop going to all of these docs. I was really starting to believe everyone that said there’s nothing wrong and it’s in my head.
Well I went to one more. From the start I knew she was diff bc she looked at me when I spoke, asked me questions and did a much more thorough exam then anyone else. She sent me for an ultrasound and to a specialist.
The ultrasound came back clean which didn’t really help my case, but I went to the specialist anyway. She sent me for an MRI. I almost didn’t go because my parents were like don’t go waste our money, there’s nothing wrong with you, the ultrasound came back clean.
I went anyway and this test did not come back clean. Nothing crazy or life threatening, but obviously enough to affect my everyday life. I cant tell you how happy I was that the mri was not clean. I know that sounds weird, but when you’re trying to convince yourself it’s a physical thing and not in your head despite what everyone has been saying it felt pretty damn good.
Anyways, that specialist sent me to another specialist who sent me to another one. The last 2 I gotta kinda combine both of their specialities so i have to start seeing them both fairly regularly.
Having doctors actually find what’s wrong and when they do an exam actually see what’s wrong and pointing it out honestly feels so good.
