Lamotrigine makes birth control less effective

I’m honestly fucking upset. I checked with my psychiatrist and my obgyn and they didn’t say anything when I got it.

I take lamotrigine for my bipolar and I was so happy that I got nexplanon because I don’t want kids and I saw that it was 99.9% effective. But epilepsy medication can make hormonal birth control less effect.

I’m at a loss for words. I love my implant so much and I’ve gotten no side effects from it. I thought it found the one for me.

Guess not.
